IN CASE YOU WANT TO USE A SHUTTLE BUS 

FROM THE AIRPORT

The shuttle bus goes: 

every half an hour from 6 am to 6 pm

every hour from 6 pm to midnight 

To get from the airport shuttle bus to the North bus station can be quite tricky but we hope if you follow these directions your trip to the hostel will be smooth and without any hustle.

Step 1: When you go out of the airport there you can find a bus ticket office. You need to say that you want to go to the North Bus Station and you should pay 3.25 JOD (no card payment available and the ticket seller sometimes doesn’t have change so keep smaller amounts of money with you). Now you can proceed to the bus which is located next to the bus ticket office.

Step 2: There are 2 main stops on the way from the airport to the city. You need to leave the bus at the North Bus Station which is the last stop. We recommend you to use offline maps to make sure it’s your stop (the driver can mislead you with the stop in order to get commission from taxi drivers).

Step 3: when you are at the North Bus Station you have several options to get to the Carob Hostel

• The best option is Uber (cost between 2-3 JOD)
• In case you don’t have access to the internet there are taxi cars* available at the North Bus Station (cost between 2-3 JOD)

*TAXI CARS AT THE NORTH BUS STATION. The reason we have prepared this guide for you is to avoid the unnecessary overpayment to the taxi drivers. We have received many complaints from the guests paying 25 JOD instead of 2.5 JOD. Why does this happen? 

As you can see, on the taximeter there are 3 digits before the full stop. It makes foreigners think that it shows the price of 385 JOD or 38.5 JOD but in fact, this is 3.85 JOD. The taxi driver might start convincing you «no, it’s 38.5» but don’t believe this. Give no more than 3.85 JOD. If they start complaining, you have 2 options: give 3.85 JOD to the driver and leave OR take a picture of the meter (and driver if possible) and tell them you will report this to the police. Because of so many tourists being ripped off by the taxi drivers, they can seem very confident when saying the real price is 38.5 JOD but, again, don’t believe them. 

NEVER GIVE THE DRIVER BIG BILL, THEY WILL NEVER GIVE YOU THE CHANGE BACK AND THEY WILL PRETEND THAT YOU GAVE THEM A SMALL BILL

THE PRICE FROM THE NORTH BUS STATION TO THE CAROB HOSTEL IS BETWEEN 2 TO 3 JOD

By law, the drivers must use the meter and if they refuse to put the meter then it is acceptable to get out and take another taxi instead. Always ask for the meter to be on when using a taxi in Jordan.
